What does what you wear in/on your head have to do with where you worship based on your faith? Well according to Pastor A.J Aamir from Texas , Alot. According to his stance he says” Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying” said Pastor Aamir. Then he goes on to Say” “Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not IN their heads, “I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. Yet, a 26 year old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. NO. I will not be quiet about this.”Pastor Aamir acknowledges he cannot legally prohibit women from wearing weaves in church, but he still highly disapproves it.

Very interesting how the focus of a woman’s weave is deemed as a distraction from her spirit and how she worships! Its no wonder so many run from the church environment, it matters not what type of style a woman or man for that matter wants to wear, weaves, short style or not and since when does this mean we are trying to be “something/Someone we are not? Just who are you referring to …”White People”? It is so disgusting how anything we dont understand we condemn, anything we dont like , we judge and anything that is against our beliefs is wrong, why not just let it be! So many are still enslaved mentally and yet we blame the shackles of our history on the reasoning!….Well its sad to say but we have carried that torch long after. And its leaders like this who keep people imprisoned mentally and stagnate in their lives and environments, afraid to be anything other that who our Culture of people deem as acceptable, the reason why people are afraid to express their feelings and their beliefs if their are not amongst popular reviews! Bullying is not just in form of physicality it is also mental! Mental Bullying and spiritual bullying is also too real and unless people start standing up against it even if it is your own culture and your own church family, it will NOT change. It just goes to show that ignorance is really not racially bias. I wonder what type of congregation he runs? And how many members will actually remain, if anything he should be more concerned about the covering of one’s spirit and inter body oppose to how much one is spending on their weave on top of their head, any leader who is as closed minded and judgmental as he, i would not want to be under leadership with. Granted i understand how many can construe their priorities and are more concerned with paying for their material desires, weaves, bags, clothes, shoes etc, oppose to paying their bills, taking care of their kids and responsibilities, and for that they have a serious issue with priorities, However what does this have to do with ones’s worship time again?…In my opinion Pastor Aamir, while i understand your stance & i may disagree with your views , however its the delivery of your message, being that you are a pastor of a church and have a very limited Diverse perspective that is very unsettling.#EpicFail.
