Hello Everyone! I hope each and everyone is maintaining their goals on their #JourneyToBetter Phase 3 challenge, and if you are just starting out I hope you have put together your vision boards w/ action plans and have your accountability partners in place to help you along the way!
By now you all know that I too have been on my own journey to better phase 3 challenge and much like phase 1 for me, this includes not only mental, emotional & spiritual detox and cleansing but also physical as well. So far I have gotten extremely close to my Goal weight, but of course we all know how we when reach one milestone it encourages you to keep going. I am no different I have lost 50 pounds since beginning my journey however I am now toning and doing other core exercises to reach my overall goals. But even with that being said I absolutely LOVE the results. Not only in a physical sense but because for every pound lost in physical weight was 2-3 pounds of weight released, emotionally, mental & spiritually. So I am really excited and proud of myself for making the decision to be healthy overall for me. Now let me say this, IT was NOT overnight, NOR was it easy breezy, this took work as anything long-lasting does. So if you are currently battling with your transition and you are not sure if it is actually worth it, TRUST me it is! You are not in this alone, you have thousands of supporters and so many need you reach your goals , so you can be an example to others that anything is possible. Besides you need to prove to yourself that everything is possible.
So we are on Day 23 of Phase 2 Journey to Better Challenge, and so far the main focus has been on Mental, Emotional,& Spiritual health. Reason being is so many focus on the outer results and miss the key elements resulting in yo yo dieting and not many results that last beyond the moment you are in. This journey is about sustaining lasting results, and this is only obtained when you work on the inside out. Releasing baggage that holds you captive. Once these things are dealt with you are able to stick to the goals you set and achieve the ultimate results. Now many are confused on what being healthy really means. Is it your size jeans, is it the size of your hips, bottom or chest. Not quite. being healthy is not based on your outer appearance alone. Although in most cases it is a clear indication of unhealthiness, what determines your overall health are the maintenance of your inner self. Below are some things to check and gain control over to ensure overall better health!
Many people who have been following my journey as a blogger, film creator & empowerment speaker are accustomed to my constant desire to transform. Not only mental, emotionally, & spiritually but also physically as well. I dont believe in half stepping so as i evolve as a woman , mentor, writer and cultural cultivator it was imperative that i evolved health wise as well. Although i had not developed any major health issues, i did know that certain diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, crohns disease and PCOS all ran within my family in some form or fashion and if i continued living as I was it would eventually be my fate as well. Although Crohns disease is not something you can prevent, it basically can lie dormant until something triggers it such as eating something you shouldn’t such as gluten filled foods etc. and we all know the cause of high blood pressure and diabetes. I am so excited to Announce the RE RELEASE of my Original Documentary released originally Last year ” Revealed“. This film really allowed me to dig deep and embrace the different yet very simular characteristics many of us face or have faced in life. This experience was truly one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever experienced, and I am so excited that the reviews had been incredible. Hello Everyone!! So many of you have been following me for some time now, and you have read my post about health and fitness and my transition from a 203 pound beauty to a 169 pound beauty. That is a 34 pound weight difference. However It is much more than just watching what you eat and becoming fit by working out etc. While yes that has ALOT to do with it. There are other factors. Overall health and fitness requires complete detox, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. The change people see in me is more than weight loss, its my overall attitude about life, the release of past burdens, issues, unhealthy relationships, old friendships that didn’t grow or push me to my better version of myself. I had to remove all of those things! I began meditating, reading alot more, writing more, and practicing an overall gratitude filled healthy life. So yesterday i began a 30 day challenge! One that took people on the journey of becoming an overall better version of themselves.
What will You learn in these 30 days? and how is it any different that my previous posts regarding health and fitness?
You are TOO FAT, You are TOO SKINNY. You are UGLY. You are Anorexic, You Eat TOO MUCH…BLAH BLAH BLAH!
Those are a few of the things, people hear from critiques, and other’s who may even say they love you. And how does that resignate to the person hearing it all …….YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. With every negative thing you hear about your appearance, it slowly but surely tears off little pieces of your self esteem. Suddenly all thing things you have probably already felt about yourself are maximized by people and to you it confirms what you have already felt. YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. You will never have that dream career, because most people in corporate who have high positions have to look the part right? In order to be a Model you must be a size 0 with no fat present at all in order to even be considered, only to be told YOU ARE TOO FAT. You will never have that sexy surfer Guy or that Tall dark and handsome super successful man or the incredibly beautiful woman because SHE WOULD NEVER SPEAK TO SOMEONE LIKE ME, IM NOT THEIR TYPE OR IM JUST SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Imagine all the times you have already beaten yourself up and now, at this very moment, the world suddenly has an opinion and confirms the very things that have destroyed you inwardly all this time.
