One of New York’s Most prominent and Influential D.j’s of our generation, Mr. Cee, sits down for what many would call an interview that has been long over due. Mr. Cee’s legacy in the hip hop community has been to say the least in the recent years slightly over shadowed by his constant run in’s /exposure of his personal addictions to as he calls it”prostitutes” and his occasional receiving “fellatio” from Transvestites ( men dressed as females). Through out the recent years Mr. Cee has denied these allegations and His station and supporters even if in doubt still stood by him. In which they should. However the problem comes when recent proof has surfaced that he could not deny. An openly gay cross dressing blogger By the name of “Bimbo Winehouse” 🙂 released a video/audio of a recent encounter she/he had with Mr. Cee. Where he attempted to solicit sex from her/him.Not sure why Winehouse felt the need to release this information, or what gain or publicity he/she hoped to receive from this however it did allow a platform for Mr. Cee to finally come clean and be free. In return he decided to resign from his on air career with Hot 97 due to the embarrassment he felt he had caused to his family, fans and co workers. During the interview it was Awesome to see the support and honesty that was given to him from hot 97’s director Ebro, and later being joined by Funk Master Flex as well. Mr. Cee opened up about his fears, incarceration, and his impact on the hip hop community! Very informative interview.! For those who are not familiar with Mr. Cee , who was born ” Calvin Lebrun” he is best known for his association with Big Daddy Kane as his personal D.J and Notorious Big as executive producer of his Debut Album Ready to Die. What he has done for the Hip Hop community is indeed epic and legendary and no matter what anyone’s opinion of his personal life is , that cant be changed. The only issue here is that in order to be truly free and proud of who you are, you must be honest with yourself. Whether it be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or just plain curious, Or perhaps you don’t like labels that’s fine too, but who ever you sleep with or what ever your preference, you must be honest with yourself. Accept who you are. Own it. Because the most freeing feeling in the world is being in control of who you are because once you are in control and accepting of who you are and what it is you like, no one can hold that against you. No one can make you feel guilty about something your not hiding. You must also think about all the people who are “Downlow” and how many are faced with diseases due to their lack of owning their “Lifestyles”. Secrets can kill. And their are millions of people living with that proof every single day. Am i saying only people who are gay transmit diseases. HECK NO! I’m saying people who are secretly engaging in unprotected, & dangerous sexual activity are transmitting diseases. That goes for Gay, straight. bisexual, curious or just plain free spirited people! Whether you like the swinging lifestyle, open relationships, occasional experimental activities WHATEVER!. Just do it safely! Protect yourself and others! Life is much bigger than that moment of pleasure and those 3-30 minutes (whatever you prefer) Is not worth it! :). What Mr. Cee has done was not for just himself. No…what he has done was take a stance for Hip Hop and all the tons of “Down Low” women and men in the industry, I mean after all these years who would have known legendary Clive Davis was bisexual? No one knew until he revealed this in his book many many years after, that he is in a relationship with a man. And let me say this it is NOT anyone’s business who you choose to be with either intimately or otherwise, however it becomes everyone’s business when you are engaging in unsafe activity that is public and you remain in denial as Mr. Cee was previously and still is to some degree. (Listen to interview and you will see what i mean). Now hopefully more people in this industry will come out and accept who they are, or just begin being more safe with their health and others!
